My story began as a human resource professional, progressed as a labor and employment law litigator, evolved as a dispute resolution law professor, and excelled as a higher education general counsel. These experiences have all informed my thinking and my ability to effectively navigate conflicts - particularly in the areas of workplace and campus disputes. Today, I continue to uphold a commitment to excellence.
Workplace Dispute Resolution
Few things are more disruptive to a company fulfilling its mission than disputes between its people. Sometimes the disputes may seem small, such as a person who wears excessive cologne, but when getting to the root of the issue a significant allergy to fragrances can be the difference between showing up to work or to the hospital. Sometimes the disputes can have high stakes, such as two vice presidents struggling to work collaboratively and creating tension at leadership meetings and beyond. I have brought these and many more types of workplace conflicts to a successful resolution.
Campus Dispute Resolution
College and university campus are dynamic places and are ripe for a myriad of conflicts. From Title IX sit-ins to student unionization drives to free-speech protests, I have navigated tense matters involving faculty, staff, students, administration and Trustees, helping balance the competing interests and bringing harmony back to campus. No issue is too large or small. I am equally adept at managing a dietary restrictions dispute between students and the food vendor as I am facilitating a gathering between leadership and students to discuss disarming campus safety officers. I bring peaceful solutions.
